Doha: President of the Qatar Olympic Committee and Chairman of the Organising Committee of the Doha 2030 Asian Games, H E Sheikh Joaan bin Hamad Al Thani, conducted a field visit to review progress on the Athletes’ Village project in Lusail City.
Sheikh Joaan was accompanied by Eng. Mohammed bin Abdulaziz Al-Meer, President of the Public Works Authority (Ashghal) and member of the organising committee; Jassim bin Rashid Al Buenain, Secretary-General of the Qatar Olympic Committee and member of the organising committee; and Dr. Ahmed Abdullah Al Buainain, Chief Executive Officer of the organising committee.
During the visit, Sheikh Joaan was briefed on the latest developments of the project, which is being implemented in line with the highest international standards to accommodate around 18,000 athletes during the Games.

The Athletes’ Village will feature integrated infrastructure, modern facilities, and a comprehensive range of services designed to meet the needs of participating athletes, ensuring a comfortable and high-performance environment throughout the event.
Officials also highlighted the project’s strong emphasis on sustainability, with environmentally conscious design and operational practices embedded across all phases of development. In addition, the village incorporates smart city concepts through the adoption of advanced technologies aimed at enhancing quality of life and ensuring efficient management of facilities and services.
The Athletes’ Village is a key component of preparations for the Doha 2030 Asian Games, reflecting Qatar’s commitment to delivering a world-class sporting event.
