Liverpool 2-0 Fulham: Salah and Ngumoha seal crucial win as Reds boost top four hopes

By Ajileye Temi Kings

Liverpool secured a vital 2-0 victory over Fulham at Anfield, with goals from Rio Ngumoha and Mohamed Salah sealing all three points in a composed Premier League performance.

The Reds started brightly, dominating possession and pushing Fulham onto the back foot early on. Their control of the game was evident, with fluid passing and attacking movement stretching the visitors’ defensive shape.

The breakthrough came in the 36th minute when Rio Ngumoha produced a moment of quality, finishing confidently to give Liverpool a deserved lead. It marked a significant milestone for the youngster, who continues to impress with his growing influence in the squad.

Just four minutes later, Liverpool doubled their advantage through Mohamed Salah. The Egyptian forward showed his trademark composure in front of goal, finishing clinically to make it 2-0 before halftime and put the hosts firmly in control.

Fulham attempted to respond after the break, enjoying spells of possession and creating a few half-chances, but they lacked the cutting edge required to break down Liverpool’s organized defense. The Reds remained disciplined at the back, with their structure limiting Fulham to speculative efforts rather than clear opportunities.

Liverpool, meanwhile, managed the game effectively in the second half. While they continued to threaten on the counterattack, their primary focus shifted to maintaining control and protecting their lead. The midfield remained compact, and the defense dealt comfortably with Fulham’s attacking efforts.

Despite Fulham’s persistence, they were unable to find a way back into the contest. Liverpool’s game management ensured there were no late scares, allowing them to see out the match professionally and secure an important clean sheet.

The result provides a significant boost to Liverpool’s push for European qualification, reinforcing their position in the race for a top four finish.

For Fulham, it was a frustrating outing. While they showed moments of promise, they ultimately lacked the quality in the final third to trouble a well-organized Liverpool side.
