Sanya: The Olympic Council of Asia, the Philippine government, and the Philippine Olympic Committee have officially signed the host agreement for the 7th Asian Beach Games Cebu 2028 during a ceremony held in Sanya, on the sidelines of the ongoing 6th Asian Beach Games.
The agreement was formalised by Sheikh Joaan bin Hamad Al-Thani, President of the OCA, and Abraham Tolentino, President of the Philippine Olympic Committee.
The signing underscores the OCA’s continued commitment to advancing beach sports across Asia and expanding opportunities for nations to host major continental events, further strengthening the Asian Olympic Movement.

Scheduled for March 2028, the Cebu Games are currently in the planning phase, with organisers preparing a preliminary sports programme comprising 24 disciplines, subject to final approval by the OCA.
The event is expected to attract wide participation from National Olympic Committees across the continent. Philippine officials have affirmed Cebu City’s readiness to host the Games, citing robust infrastructure and strong organisational capabilities as key strengths in delivering a successful edition.
