The 2025/26 Premier League season came to a dramatic conclusion on Sunday with unforgettable scenes across England as Arsenal finally lifted the league title, Tottenham Hotspur escaped relegation by the narrowest of margins, and West Ham United suffered heartbreaking relegation despite winning comfortably on the final day.
There was also late VAR controversy at Selhurst Park, shock defeats for Chelsea and Manchester City, while Manchester United ended the season strongly with an impressive away victory over Brighton.
From title celebrations to relegation heartbreak, the final day had everything.
Crystal Palace 1-2 Arsenal

Arsenal were officially crowned Premier League champions after surviving a dramatic late scare against Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park.
Gabriel Jesus opened the scoring for Arsenal after being brilliantly set up by Gabriel Martinelli as the visitors took control early in the match. The Gunners later doubled their advantage through Noni Madueke after another well-worked attacking move involving Albert.
Crystal Palace responded late in the game through Jean-Philippe Mateta, who made it 2-1 in the 89th minute to create tension inside the stadium.
The drama intensified in stoppage time when Jeremy Pino thought he had equalised for Palace with a stunning late goal. However, after a lengthy VAR review, the goal was ruled out, sparking massive celebrations from the Arsenal players and supporters as the final whistle confirmed them as Premier League champions.

Brighton 0-3 Manchester United
Manchester United finished the campaign on a high with a dominant 3-0 victory away at Brighton & Hove Albion.
Patrick Doku opened the scoring after being assisted by Bruno Fernandes before Bryan Mbeumo doubled United’s advantage following good work from Amad Diallo. Fernandes then capped off an outstanding performance by getting on the scoresheet himself after another excellent contribution from Doku.
United controlled the game from start to finish and comfortably secured all three points on the final day.
Burnley 1-1 Wolves
Burnley and Wolverhampton Wanderers played out a 1-1 draw in an evenly contested encounter.
Wolves took the lead through Adam Armstrong from the penalty spot before Burnley equalised in the second half through Fleming to ensure both teams shared the points.
Fulham 2-0 Newcastle United
Fulham produced a strong performance to defeat Newcastle United 2-0.
Diop opened the scoring for Fulham before Kiany added a second goal to secure a comfortable victory for the home side.
Liverpool 1-1 Brentford
Liverpool were held to a 1-1 draw by Brentford at Anfield.
Curtis Jones gave Liverpool the lead before Brentford fought back through Schade, whose equaliser denied the Reds victory in their final game of the season.
Aston Villa 2-1 Manchester City
Aston Villa stunned Manchester City with a dramatic 2-1 comeback victory.
Antonio Semenyo fired City ahead before Ollie Watkins equalised for Villa. The hosts later completed the turnaround with another goal created by Ross Barkley.
Phil Foden thought he had rescued a late point for City in the 97th minute, but VAR intervened once again to rule out the goal, confirming Villa’s famous victory.
Nottingham Forest 1-1 Bournemouth
Nottingham Forest and AFC Bournemouth shared the points after a competitive 1-1 draw.
Morgan Gibbs-White opened the scoring for Forest after being assisted by Omari Hutchinson before Marcus Tavernier equalised for Bournemouth later in the game.
Sunderland 2-1 Chelsea
Sunderland pulled off one of the biggest surprises of the final day by defeating Chelsea 2-1.
CU gave Sunderland the lead before Malo Gusto’s own goal doubled the advantage for the hosts. Cole Palmer pulled one back for Chelsea, but their hopes of a comeback suffered a major setback when Wesley Fofana was shown a red card late in the match.
Tottenham 3-0 Everton
Tottenham Hotspur secured their Premier League survival in emphatic fashion with a dominant 3-0 victory over Everton.
Tottenham produced one of their best performances of the season under pressure as they comfortably secured the win they needed to remain in the Premier League.
West Ham 3-0 Leeds United
West Ham United did everything possible to avoid relegation with an emphatic 3-0 victory over Leeds United.
Castellanos opened the scoring after a brilliant assist from Jarrod Bowen before Bowen added the second goal himself. Callum Wilson later completed the scoring to give West Ham hope.
Unfortunately for the Hammers, Tottenham’s victory meant their win was ultimately not enough to secure survival as West Ham were officially relegated from the Premier League in heartbreaking fashion.
