Thailand PM hosts OCA President to strengthen Asian sports cooperation

Bangkok: Prime Minister of Thailand H E Anutin Charnvirakul received the President of the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA) H E Sheikh Joaan bin Hamad Al Thani in Bangkok for high-level talks focused on advancing sports collaboration across the continent.

Discussions centred on strengthening bilateral cooperation, supporting the growth of the Olympic Movement in Asia, and exploring opportunities to expand joint initiatives in the sporting sector, alongside other matters of shared interest.

During his visit, Sheikh Joaan also met with President of the National Olympic Committee of Thailand Pimol Srivikorn. The meeting reviewed existing ties between the OCA and the Thai committee, with both sides examining ways to enhance coordination and accelerate joint efforts. They also assessed ongoing preparations for upcoming continental sporting events, reaffirming their commitment to delivering successful competitions and further elevating Asia’s sporting landscape.
