Doha: The Qatar Olympic Committee organized the 2026 Paralympic Challenge Day for people with disabilities on Wednesday in collaboration with Awsaj Academy, part of Qatar Foundation’s Pre-University Education, at the academy’s sports hall in an inspiring sporting and educational environment designed to promote inclusion, determination, and community engagement.
The event featured a variety of Paralympic sports and interactive competitions, including wheelchair basketball, boccia, goalball, and sitting volleyball, alongside handcycling simulations and blindfold races. The activities gave students a valuable opportunity to experience Paralympic sports firsthand while encouraging teamwork, empathy, and positive interaction among participants.
Saeeda Al Abdullah, Event Director at the Qatar Olympic Committee, expressed her appreciation to all those who contributed to the success of the programme, noting that the achievement reflected the strong partnership between the committee and Awsaj Academy, as well as the dedication of everyone involved in delivering its sporting and humanitarian goals.

She said the Qatar Olympic Committee remains committed to expanding such strategic collaborations and launching innovative initiatives that strengthen social responsibility and community participation while supporting activities that inspire younger generations and reinforce the values of perseverance, challenge, and mutual respect.
Meanwhile, Mohammed Al Janahi, Elementary School Principal at Awsaj Academy, emphasized that hosting meaningful sporting initiatives of this nature highlights the importance of fostering inclusion, cooperation, and equal participation within the school community.

He praised the Qatar Olympic Committee’s efforts in supporting sporting and humanitarian programmes that raise awareness of Paralympic sports and encourage greater appreciation of the abilities and achievements of individuals with different needs. He added that such partnerships create a lasting educational and social impact on students and help nurture a more aware, compassionate, and engaged generation.
