Doha: Al Sadd were crowned champions of the 2025–2026 H H the Amir Table Tennis Cup after edging Al Arabi 3–2 in a pulsating final held at Abdullah bin Suhaim Hall at Qatar Sports Club.
In a tightly contested showdown that swung both ways, Al Sadd held their nerve in the decisive moments to secure a landmark victory and reclaim one of the sport’s most prestigious domestic titles.
Following the final, Secretary General of the Qatar Olympic Committee Jassim bin Rashid Al Buainain, presented the trophy to Al Sadd, while President of the Qatar Table Tennis Association (QTTA) Hamad Ahmed Al Hammadi awarded the runners-up trophy to Al Arabi in recognition of their strong performance.
The triumph marks a significant return to the top for Al Sadd, who lifted the title for the first time since the 2014–2015 season, ending a long wait and adding a fifth crown to their decorated record.

Al Hammadi praised the high technical and organisational standards of the final, describing the match as a fitting showcase for the stature of the competition. He extended congratulations to Al Sadd for their title-winning performance, commending the players’ fighting spirit and consistency under pressure, while also applauding Al Arabi for their competitive display and sportsmanship throughout the final.
He noted that the season concluded with a high-quality contest between two of Qatar’s leading clubs, reflecting the continued development of the sport domestically and the strong efforts made to deliver the tournament to the highest standards befitting its prestige.

QTTA Secretary General Ahmed Khalil Al-Mohannadi also lauded the quality of the final, describing it as an outstanding sporting spectacle. He highlighted the intensity of competition between both sides, stating that Al Sadd’s players delivered a performance worthy of champions, underlining the steady progress of table tennis in Qatar.
He congratulated Al Sadd’s management, technical staff, players and supporters on their achievement, while also praising Al Arabi for their resilience and contribution to a thrilling final. He reaffirmed the federation’s commitment to further developing domestic competitions and supporting the national teams in achieving future success on the international stage.
Al Sadd star Abdullah Abdulwahab expressed pride in the victory, describing the triumph as the result of collective determination and sustained effort throughout the season.
“We dedicate this title to the Al Sadd fans, management and everyone who supported us. The final against Al Arabi was extremely tough, but our determination in crucial moments made the difference,” he said.
He added that winning the prestigious cup places greater responsibility on the team going forward, pledging continued commitment to competing for further honours in future seasons.
