Doha: The Local Organising Committee for Football Events (LOC) has announced that the Lebanon versus Yemen qualifier for the AFC Asian Cup Saudi Arabia 2027 will take place on June 4 at Grand Hamad Stadium.
Originally scheduled to be held in Beirut on March 31, 2026, Lebanon will now play the decisive home fixture on neutral ground in Qatar, where they will face Yemen in a match jointly organised by the LOC and the Lebanese Football Association.
Fans in Qatar and across the region will be able to purchase tickets for the highly anticipated qualifier starting May 31 through Road to Qatar, with tickets becoming immediately available via the official Road to Qatar ticketing application.
The match marks the second time Lebanon will play at Grand Hamad Stadium during their AFC Asian Cup 2027 qualifying campaign. The venue previously hosted Lebanon’s 2-0 victory over Bhutan on October 9, 2025.

Grand Hamad Stadium also recently staged Yemen’s dramatic encounter against Comoros in the qualifier for the FIFA Arab Cup on November 26, 2025, which ended in a thrilling 4-4 draw.
Lebanon and Yemen will meet for the second time in the current AFC Asian Cup qualifying campaign after their previous meeting on June 10, 2025 ended in a goalless draw. The June 4 clash will determine the final qualifying spot from Group E, with the winners set to join South Korea, the United Arab Emirates and Vietnam in the tournament.
The 19th edition of the AFC Asian Cup will be staged in Saudi Arabia from January 7 to February 5, 2027. Lebanon have qualified for the continental tournament on three occasions — hosting the competition in 2000 and earning qualification for the 2019 edition and the AFC Asian Cup Qatar 2023. Yemen, meanwhile, made their historic tournament debut in 2019.
The Lebanon-Yemen qualifier adds to a growing list of major international football fixtures hosted by Qatar, underscoring confidence in the country’s capability to stage global sporting events.
With a capacity of 13,000 spectators, Grand Hamad Stadium has hosted several international fixtures, including qualifiers for the FIFA World Cup. The stadium also served as the base camp for the Brazil national football team during the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 and currently serves as the home ground of Al-Arabi SC.
