Al Sadd emerge champions of 3×3 Basketball Junior League second round

Doha: Al Sadd secured the top position in the second round of the 2024-2025 season of the Under-15 Junior League for 3×3 Basketball, following a series of thrilling matches involving nine Qatari clubs, which were organized into three groups.

The teams were categorized as follows: Group A consisted of Al Sadd, Al Arabi, and Al Ahli; Group B included Al Gharafa, Al Khor, and Al Shamal; while Group C comprised Al Rayyan, Al Wakrah, and Qatar Club.

The outcomes of the group stage revealed that Al Sadd triumphed over Al Arabi with a score of 20-5, Al Gharafa overcame Al Khor 11-4, and Al Rayyan bested Al Wakra 17-3. Additionally, Al Arabi won against Al Ahli 13-11, Al Shamal defeated Al Khor 14-5, Qatar Club emerged victorious over Al Wakrah 10-6, Al Sadd claimed victory against Al Ahli 21-15, and Al Shamal won against Al Gharafa 13-11.

In the semi-finals, Al Sadd achieved a decisive victory over Qatar Club with a score of 21-3, while Al Rayyan narrowly defeated Al Shamal 21-17. In the match for third and fourth place, Al Shamal triumphed over Qatar Club 21-13. The final saw Al Sadd defeat Al Rayyan with a score of 13-6.

The award ceremony was graced by Captain Yassin Ismail, Director of the 3×3 Committee at the Qatar Basketball Association, alongside Mr. Abdullah Sultan Al Jaber, a member of the Board of Directors of the Qatar Basketball Association.

Al Sadd was awarded first place along with a cash prize of QR25,000, Al Rayyan received second place and a cash prize of QR15,000, and Al Gharafa secured third place with a cash prize of QR10,000, having outscored Al Shamal in the initial two rounds.

It is noteworthy that Al Sadd had previously claimed the title in the first round by defeating Al Gharafa 17-11, while Al Rayyan finished in third place after overcoming Qatar Club 20-7.
