Osimhen shines with brace as Galatasaray ease past Bodo/Glimt in Champions League

Victor Osimhen struck twice and set up another as Galatasaray cruised to a comfortable Champions League victory over Bodo/Glimt, sealing back-to-back wins in Europe for the first time since 2012.

The Nigerian forward delivered a standout performance, netting twice in the first half before assisting Yunus Akgun after the break to complete a 3-1 triumph in Istanbul.

Osimhen’s brace saw him become the first Galatasaray player to score in seven consecutive European games, surpassing Burak Yilmaz’s record from 2012–13.

Substitute Andreas Helmersen scored a late consolation for the Norwegian champions, who remain winless in the group stage.

Osimhen opened the scoring early with a precise low finish from Mario Lemina’s pass, then capitalized on a defensive error from Fredrik Bjorkan to double the lead before halftime.

He later won back possession to set up Akgun, who finished at the second attempt for Galatasaray’s third.

Despite late efforts from Jens Hauge and Sondre Fet, Bodo/Glimt managed only Helmersen’s header in reply.

The result lifted Okan Buruk’s side to 14th in the standings, continuing their strong start to the competition.
