Wasan Yousef Al Jaber supports FIFA World Cup 2026 media operations as Qatar national team Media Officer

San Francisco: Wasan Yousef Al Jaber is currently serving as a FIFA Media Officer at the San Francisco Bay Area Stadium during the FIFA World Cup 2026™, where she is responsible for supporting media operations for all teams competing at the venue. In addition, she is acting as the dedicated Media Officer for the Qatar National Team, ensuring seamless delivery of all media activities throughout the tournament.

As part of a knowledge and expertise transfer program between the Supreme Committee for Delivery & Legacy (SC) and FIFA, Al Jaber is one of several Qatari specialists deployed across the United States and Canada. This initiative allows professionals with experience from Qatar’s successful hosting of major events to contribute to the delivery of the first-ever 48-team FIFA World Cup™.

In her role, Al Jaber works closely with team officials, coaches, players, broadcasters, and media representatives. Her responsibilities include moderating press conferences, facilitating interviews, managing mixed-zone operations, and ensuring compliance with tournament media requirements.

“My job is to serve as a bridge between the teams and the world, facilitating media access, coordinating communications activities, and ensuring that important moments from the tournament reach audiences across the globe,” said Al Jaber.

She added: “Every tournament presents its own challenges, but what makes this experience special is applying lessons learned from events hosted in Qatar to a truly global stage. The experience we gained over the years continues to prove its value here every day.”

Al Jaber’s extensive background in major sporting events began with the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022, where she served as Media Operations Venue Manager. She has since contributed to several high-profile tournaments, including the AFC Asian Cup Qatar 2023, FIFA Arab Cup, FIFA Intercontinental Cup, and FIFA U-17 World Cup Qatar 2025.

“Few people get the opportunity to work across so many major tournaments in such a short period of time. Each event taught me something different, challenged me in new ways and helped me grow professionally,” she noted.

Through her current assignment, Al Jaber continues to showcase Qatar’s tournament expertise on the global stage while proudly supporting her national team during the 2026 World Cup.
