Doha: The Qatar Equestrian Federation Cup, a highlight of the Doha Equestrian Tour 2026, will get underway on Thursday at the Longines Arena in Al Shaqab, with more than 170 riders from 21 countries set to battle it out over four days for a total prize purse of €784,000.

The competition, which features riders of international ranking, includes events across one- to five-star categories and promises high-level action in showjumping.

Action on the opening day featured four classes in the one- and five-star categories, with fence heights ranging from 110cm to 150cm. The second and third days will see eight classes, including six in the one-, three- and five-star divisions at varying heights, as well as dedicated classes for Future Riders and Juniors.

The championship will culminate on the fourth and final day with three-star and five-star classes, highlighted by the Grand Prix for three-star riders at 150cm and the main Grand Prix at 160cm, both featuring jump-off rounds.

The inaugural edition of the Qatar Equestrian Federation Cup is organised by the Qatar Equestrian Federation in collaboration with Al Shaqab and the Qatar Olympic Committee. It enjoys official partnerships with Qatar Calendar and Doha Bank.

Hamad Medical Corporation is serving as the official medical partner, while Al Abdulghani Motors is the transportation partner. Al Kass Sports Channels is the broadcasting partner, Education Above All is the humanitarian partner, the Equine Veterinary Medical Center is the official veterinary partner, and Prime Power is a complementary partner.

The event is expected to showcase the growing strength of equestrian sport in Qatar and provide a prestigious platform for both local and international riders to compete at the highest level in Al Shaqab’s world-class facilities.
