Paris Saint-Germain head into the break with a deserved 1-0 lead over Liverpool after a controlled and dominant first-half performance in Paris.
The breakthrough came early, and it set the tone.
In the 11th minute, Désiré Doué fired PSG ahead, finishing off a well-worked attacking move. The goal took a slight deflection on its way in, but it was no less deserved given PSG’s sharp start.
From that moment, PSG took control.
They dominated possession heavily, at one point completing far more passes than Liverpool and dictating the rhythm of the game. Their front line, including Ousmane Dembélé and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, caused constant problems with movement and direct running.
Liverpool, on the other hand, struggled to settle.
They started nervously and found it difficult to build any sustained attacks. Even as the half progressed, clear chances were almost non-existent, with PSG limiting them to zero shots on target in the opening 45 minutes.
There were signs of adjustment from Liverpool.
They tried to shift shape and grow into the game, with players like Dominik Szoboszlai attempting to create openings, but PSG’s midfield remained compact and aggressive, winning duels and cutting off passing lanes.
Defensively, Liverpool were also under pressure.
PSG continued to push, creating half-chances and looking dangerous whenever they moved forward quickly. Goalkeeper Giorgi Mamardashvili was called into action to keep the scoreline from growing further.
By half-time, the numbers told the story, PSG in control, Liverpool struggling to respond.

Liverpool will need a serious reaction in the second half, more composure, more attacking intent, or risk letting the tie slip further away.
