Liverpool go into the break with a comfortable 2-0 lead over Fulham after a dominant first-half display at Anfield, led by Mohamed Salah’s brilliance and Rio Ngumoha’s breakthrough moment.
Arne Slot’s side started brightly, controlling possession and pushing Fulham deep into their own half. The Reds looked sharp in attack, moving the ball quickly and stretching the visitors across the pitch.
Fulham began with a compact defensive setup, trying to absorb pressure and hit on the counter, but Liverpool’s intensity and movement eventually forced gaps to appear.
The opening goal came through Rio Ngumoha, who continued his impressive rise with a composed finish after sustained Liverpool pressure. The youngster showed great awareness in the box to give the hosts a deserved lead and energise the home crowd.
Liverpool maintained their control after the opener, with Fulham struggling to build any real attacking rhythm. The midfield trio dictated play, while the full backs pushed high to keep Fulham pinned back.
The second goal came from Mohamed Salah, who once again delivered in a big moment. The Egyptian forward finished clinically after a well-worked attacking move, doubling Liverpool’s advantage and putting them firmly in control of the match before the interval.
Fulham did attempt to respond, with occasional forward runs and counterattacks, but they found Liverpool’s defense well organized and difficult to break down. Virgil van Dijk and the backline remained solid, cutting out danger before it could develop.
At halftime, Liverpool are fully deserving of their 2-0 lead, having been the better side in every department—possession, chance creation, and finishing. Fulham will need a major tactical response in the second half if they are to get anything from this match.
