Qatari drivers clinch class victory and podium finish at Michelin 12H Spa-Francorchamps

Doha: Team Qatar delivered a standout performance in the prestigious Michelin 12H Spa-Francorchamps, securing first place in the 992-AM class and an impressive second overall in the 992 category. The endurance race, held from April 16 to 19 at the legendary Spa-Francorchamps circuit in Belgium as part of the European 24H Series, highlighted the growing prowess of Qatari motorsport on the international stage.

The triumph was powered by the exceptional driving of Abdullah Al-Khelaifi, Ahmed Al-Emadi, and Faisal Al-Yafei. Competing in a Porsche 911 GT3 Cup (992), the trio demonstrated remarkable skill, endurance, and teamwork throughout the challenging 12-hour event, one of the toughest tests in European endurance racing.

The team set a strong foundation early, qualifying second in their class on Friday. This positioning allowed them to challenge for the lead from the race start. Over the course of the event, flawless driver rotations, a sharp pit strategy, and consistent mechanical reliability kept the Qatari entry at the front of the 992-AM field.

Their efforts culminated in a dominant class win and a runner-up finish in the broader 992 category, earning them a well-deserved podium spot where the Qatari flag was proudly raised amid international competitors.

“This result is a testament to the hard work, preparation, and synergy within the team,” said a team representative. “The drivers showed outstanding pace and composure under pressure, reinforcing Qatar’s rising reputation in global motorsport.”

The achievement marks another milestone in the development of endurance racing in Qatar and signals strong momentum heading into future rounds of the championship. It underscores the commitment of Qatari talents to competing at the highest levels and inspires the next generation of drivers.

By excelling at the iconic Spa circuit—known for its demanding layout and unpredictable weather—Team Qatar has once again proven its ability to deliver results on the European stage, paving the way for even greater successes ahead.
