Ostrava: Qatar’s powerhouse beach volleyball duo, Cherif Younousse and Ahmed Tijan, got back to winning ways at the Ostrava Elite16 in the Czech Republic, securing their second victory of the tournament.
The Qatari pair delivered a commanding performance in their third Group B match, defeating France’s Elouan Chouikh and Joadel Genevieve-Gardoque in straight sets (21-15, 21-17).
The victory marks a strong rebound for the duo. After launching their tournament campaign with a flawless straight-sets win over Latvia’s Bedritis and Rinkevics, they suffered a narrow, hard-fought three-set loss to America’s Taylor Crabb and Andrew Benesh in the second round.
About the tournament: The Ostrava Elite16 is a premier event on the Volleyball World Beach Pro Tour, showcasing the globe’s elite talent. The high-stakes competition runs through Sunday.
