Juventus head into half-time with a commanding 2-0 lead over Genoa after a sharp and clinical opening 45 minutes.
The hosts wasted no time making their intentions clear, striking early to take control of the game. Juventus opened the scoring in the 4th minute through Gleison Bremer, who reacted quickest inside the box to convert from close range and give his side the perfect start.
That early goal set the tone.
Juventus continued to press high and dominate possession, keeping Genoa pinned in their own half for long stretches. Their control paid off again in the 17th minute when Weston McKennie doubled the lead, finishing off a well-worked move to cap a strong spell of attacking pressure.
At 2-0 inside 20 minutes, Juventus looked fully in control.
Genoa struggled to respond in any meaningful way. While they tried to settle into the game, their attacking play lacked cohesion, and they found it difficult to break through Juventus’ organized defensive structure. Most of their forward moves were cut out early, with the home side winning key duels and second balls.
Juventus, meanwhile, remained composed and disciplined. After their fast start, they managed the tempo well, recycling possession and limiting risks while still probing for openings in the final third.
Chances became fewer as the half progressed, but the damage had already been done early on.
At the break, Juventus hold a deserved 2-0 advantage, built on a clinical start and strong control of the game. Genoa will need a significant improvement in the second half if they are to find a way back into the contest.
