Parma held Napoli to a 1-1 draw in a tense Serie A encounter, frustrating Napoli’s push in the title race.
Napoli started the match as the dominant side, controlling possession and dictating the tempo from midfield. Their attacking intent paid off in the first half when Victor Osimhen found the breakthrough, continuing his strong goalscoring form and giving the visitors a deserved lead.
With the advantage, Napoli looked comfortable for long periods, moving the ball confidently and limiting Parma’s attacking opportunities. The hosts struggled to break through Napoli’s defensive structure and were forced into speculative efforts.
However, Parma showed resilience and gradually grew into the contest. Their persistence paid off in the second half, as they found a way back into the game with a crucial equaliser that reignited the home crowd.
The goal shifted momentum, with Parma gaining confidence while Napoli began to lose control of the game. Despite pushing forward in search of a winner, the visitors lacked the cutting edge needed to restore their lead.
In the closing stages, both sides had moments where they could have snatched all three points, but neither was able to find the decisive breakthrough.
For Napoli, it’s a frustrating result that could prove costly in the title race, as dropping points against mid-table opposition tightens the pressure. Parma, meanwhile, will take pride in a disciplined and determined performance to earn a valuable point.
