Doha: The Qatar Football Association honoured the standout performers of the domestic football season during the QFA Awards Ceremony 2025-2026 held at Raffles Doha on Monday evening.
The ceremony brought together senior officials, club presidents, players, coaches, referees and media representatives to celebrate the top achievers of the 2025-2026 campaign.
Leading the night’s honours was Akram Afif, who was named Best Player after another exceptional season with Al Sadd. Afif beat competition from Roger Guedes of Al Rayyan and Baghdad Bounedjah of Al Shamal following a season in which he played a pivotal role in guiding Al Sadd to the league title.
Roger Guedes also claimed the prestigious Mansour Muftah Award for Top Scorer after netting 21 goals in the Doha Bank Stars League season.
In the coaching category, David Prats of Al Shamal secured the Best Coach Award after leading his side to an impressive campaign, overcoming fellow nominees Roberto Mancini and Vicente Moreno.
The Best Goalkeeper Award went to Mahmoud Abunada of Al Rayyan, while Ayoub Al Oui of Al Gharafa won the Best Under-23 Player Award.
The Football for All Award was presented to the Match for Hope initiative in recognition of its contribution to promoting football culture and community engagement.
Meanwhile, Al Sadd received the Best Fans Award based on average attendance figures and related criteria throughout the season.
The Best Referees Awards were claimed by referee Mohammed Al Mazeed, assistant referees Saoud Ahmed and Yousef Aref, while Meshari Al Shammari was recognised as Best Video Assistant Referee (VAR).
The QFA Awards Board of Trustees congratulated all winners and praised the contributions of clubs, players and officials in delivering another successful football season in Qatar.
