Staff Reporter

Doha: Visit Qatar and Professional Triathletes Organisation have confirmed that Lusail City will host the 2026 Qatar T100 Triathlon World Championship Final for the second consecutive year, following the strong success and public engagement witnessed during the event’s debut edition in Qatar in 2025.

Scheduled from December 10 to 12, 2026, the multi-day endurance festival will unite elite professional triathletes, amateur athletes and community participants in a packed programme catering to all age groups and fitness levels. The championship weekend will feature the Open T100 race, Sprint Triathlon, T100 Age Group World Championships, in addition to 1km and 5km community runs.

The event forms part of the broader 2026 T100 Triathlon World Tour, which sees the world’s leading triathletes compete across a series of iconic international destinations from March through to the season-ending finale in Qatar.

Athletes will compete in PTO’s signature T100 format, beginning with a 2km swim in the Arabian Gulf, followed by an 80km cycling course through the streets of Lusail, before concluding with an 18km run across Lusail Plaza and Boulevard.

The championship weekend will also feature an interactive fan village offering family-friendly entertainment, wellness activities, food experiences and spectator attractions, creating a festive atmosphere for athletes and visitors alike.

As the concluding event of the global T100 Triathlon World Tour, the championship underscores Qatar’s growing status as a leading international sports tourism destination. The event also highlights the country’s world-class infrastructure, diverse leisure offerings and year-round calendar of major sporting events that continue to attract visitors from around the globe.

Participation and registration details are available via the official T100 Qatar Registration Page.
