QOC officials inspect Qatar team preparations ahead of Asian Beach Games

Sanya: Senior representatives of the Qatar Olympic Committee visited the national delegation’s headquarters in Sanya, China, to assess readiness for the 2026 Asian Beach Games in Hainan Province.

Second Vice President Thani bin Abdulrahman Al Kuwari and Secretary-General Jassim bin Rashid Al Buainain met with athletes and officials, reviewing preparations ahead of the competition.

They encouraged competitors to uphold discipline and deliver performances that reflect Qatar’s sporting progress and rising continental profile, while emphasising the value of focus and experience gained from major international events.

Officials also received updates on administrative and logistical arrangements at the delegation’s headquarters, commending team management for ensuring optimal conditions for athletes.

Qatar will compete in seven sports, including volleyball, 3×3 basketball, handball, sailing, aquathlon, jujitsu, and wrestling, with both men and women participating in select disciplines.

The country has maintained a consistent presence at the Games since its inception in Bali in 2008, earning its first gold medal in handball at Haiyang in 2012.
